About Takehara DMO

The Takehara Tourism and Community Development Organization (Takehara DMO) was established by three founding members—Takehara City, the Takehara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Takehara Tourism Association—united by a strong commitment to promote Takehara as a tourist destination through an all-Takehara approach to tourism development.
Moving forward, to achieve sustainable tourism and community development, we will prioritize projects that enhance customer satisfaction, promote economic growth, foster harmony with the natural environment, and contribute to the improvement of the lives and culture of Takehara residents, as outlined in the “Takehara Future Brand Strategy Plan.” These efforts will be carried out through strengthened collaboration among stakeholders. Takehara DMO will serve as the driving force behind these initiatives, striving to build a trusted organization with specialized capabilities to create new value through the promotion of these projects.

Vision Mission

We have adopted “The Salt of Life—the essence that gives meaning and stimulation to life” as our vision, and we conduct our activities with the goal of creating “a town where both visitors and residents can find meaning in life and receive stimulation for their lives.”

Going forward, we define “finding The Salt of Life = the ultimate customer satisfaction,” and we will continue working to create opportunities for both visitors (tourists) and residents (local residents and businesses) to discover their own unique Salt of Life (SOL).

The Meaning Behind Our Tourism Logo and Catchphrase

This logo is based on the crystalline structure of “salt,” which has shaped Takehara’s history, and incorporates design elements representing our tourism resources: “leaping rabbits,” “the curves of the townscape,” and “the Seto Inland Sea.” The crystals are designed with an expanding form to symbolize the growth and sustainability of the town.

The catchphrase “Discover” means to find, and “The Salt of Life” means a sense of purpose or fulfillment in life.
Takehara is filled with charm: the beautiful Seto Inland Sea and countryside, a nostalgic townscape that evokes a sense of the good old days, delicious food and sake, and kind, warm-hearted people.

We hope that visitors to this town will experience these charms and find an opportunity to “discover” what “The Salt of Life” truly means and what richness really is.
Additionally, “Salt” also reflects Takehara’s historical background as a town that once prospered through the salt-making industry.
