Takehara Sumiyoshi Festival

～Overview～

A traditional sea festival that has continued since the Edo period.
Along the Honkawa River, children’s lanterns are lined up, and you can enjoy a wide variety of events, including kaidenma boat processions and mikoshi (portable shrine) processions, as well as stage events and a uchiwa fan raffle.
On the festival’s final day, fireworks light up the night sky, bringing the event to a spectacular finale.

〇 Event Schedule

【July 25 & 26, 2026 (both days)】
17:30–20:45 Ride experience on a high-lift work platform that rises up and up (in front of the Rai Sanyo bronze statue)
18:00– Tomikuji lottery (300 yen per ticket) Special venue in Kakemachi Shopping Street
Kaidenma boat procession (times may change depending on the Honkawa River’s water level, etc.)
17:00– Night stalls
All day Children’s lantern art display (throughout the festival area)

Sumiyoshi Shrine → Shiomachi area → Higashi-Ooi → Nishimachi → Kisu → Kitazaki → Oishi → Kurohama → Mukojima → Tanaka → Sumiyoshi Shrine

Mikoshi procession (afternoon session) carried 16;00–17:30
Sumiyoshi Shrine → Shokei Square → Takehara Gardening Shop → Suikei Small Garden →巡回 around the festival venue (procession ends)
