The 35th Takehara Bamboo Festival is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2026!
While the festival has traditionally been held on May 3 during Golden Week, the 35th Takehara Bamboo Festival will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
As a new addition to the event, we’ll be hosting a costume (cosplay) contest!
The costume contest will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and will take place in parts of the Historic Preservation District and the Takehara Station Shopping Arcade!
