This is the city’s comprehensive sports park themed around “bamboo,” the official tree of Takehara City.
The Bamboo Hall consists of an exhibition room, craft workshops, and a Japanese-style room (tea room). Here, you can enjoy hands-on learning about bamboo ecology and see a pipe-organ-style acoustic instrument made of bamboo.
Walking trails along the ridges of the forested area connect the various facilities, allowing you to enjoy forest bathing while taking a leisurely stroll.
Stop by the Sea Observatory or the Mountain Observatory located at scenic viewpoints to take a break and feel refreshed!
The park features about 1,300 cherry trees of 20 different varieties, which typically begin to bloom around mid-March.
With sports facilities like a multi-purpose ground and gymnasium, as well as a lawn area and playground equipment for children, the park is widely used by everyone from kids to seniors.
[Notice]
* Please refrain from walking pets anywhere in the park, including the parking lots. For dog walking, please use the “Dog Run” within the park.
* The “Dog Run” can be used after registering at the gymnasium office.
