Highlights & What to Do

A retro-modern Western-style building constructed in the early Showa period as a library.
Originally the site of the former residence of Shioya Doseki, a Confucian scholar from the mid-Edo period, it was later turned into a school by Rai Sanyo’s uncle, Shunpu, who carried on his legacy.
The museum displays the history and materials related to the salt production industry, which once brought prosperity to the town alongside the famous salt of Ako.
