Built during the Edo period as a detached room of the “Fukkokan,” this historic building was later inhabited by the Mitsumoto family before being donated to Takehara City.
At the Imai Masayuki Ceramic Art Museum, housed in a renovated storehouse at the former Mitsumoto Family Residence, you can see about 30 works by ceramic artist Masayuki Imai, inspired by nature—fish from the Seto Inland Sea, flowers and plants, and other living creatures that he grew up with.
Along with the historic townscape, it is a quiet cultural spot where you can experience the world of art nurtured by Takehara.
