Mount Kurotaki New Year’s Day Climb

— The following information is for the 2026 event —

Climb Mt. Kurotaki and enjoy the first sunrise of the year.
Hikers will receive a commemorative zodiac pouch.
A lion dance will be performed at the summit, and you might even win a lucky arrow or a votive tablet!
You can also take commemorative photos with the lion dancers.
Free sake from the barrel, zenzai (sweet red bean soup), coffee, and hot marmalade drink will also be served.
(Please bring a flashlight as it will be dark underfoot.)

[Volunteers Wanted] Event Material Transport and Preparation
We are looking for volunteers to help with transporting materials and setting up for the event.
Departure: January 1 at 4:30 AM (by minibus)
Meeting Point: Aohata Headquarters Parking Lot

5:50 AM: Hospitality service begins
Greetings from the Chairperson and Guests
Kagami-biraki ceremony by the Ushitora-kai
6:20 AM: Kakeba Lion Dance and Children’s Lion Dance
Lucky arrow giveaway (40 sets available)
Commemorative photos (You can take photos with the lion dancers!)
7:14 AM: First sunrise and three cheers of “Banzai”
7:30 AM: Hospitality service ends
