Are you looking for a relaxing hot spring inn for your trip to Hiroshima Prefecture?
Or perhaps you’re planning a special hot spring getaway to reset from daily fatigue.
We’d like to introduce you to Yusaka Hot Spring Village (Yusaka Onsen-kyo), a treasure of Takehara City in Hiroshima Prefecture.
This place, which has long healed people’s hearts and bodies, is truly a location worthy of “unwinding the heart,” wrapped in tranquility and history.
Yusaka Hot Spring Village has an ancient history. According to legend, an injured crane once healed its wounds by drinking these waters, and this place has been called “Crane’s Bath.”
During the Heian period, Sugawara no Michizane rested here on his way to Tsukushi (Kyushu), and during the Edo period, feudal lords traveling for sankin-kotai (alternate attendance) would ease their fatigue here.
This place has warmly welcomed travelers across the ages—a healing village with venerable origins.
This historic Yusaka Hot Spring Village is located about 15 minutes by car from central Takehara City, nestled along the Kamo River embraced by rich nature.
A short distance from the bustle of Takehara’s townscape, also known as “Little Kyoto of Aki,” this place invites visitors to peaceful moments.
The murmuring of the clear stream pleasantly echoes in your ears, and the changing colors of the trees delight your eyes with each season. Such a luxurious environment is Yusaka Hot Spring Village’s greatest charm.
At Kamogawaso, the central inn of Yusaka Hot Spring Village, you can enjoy a rare spring quality in Japan—a [Radioactive Cold Mineral Spring (Radon Spring)] that springs from a well on the premises.
These renowned waters are effective for hyperuricemia, gout, chronic urinary tract inflammation, and diabetes, and have properties that enhance the function of the pituitary-adrenal system, ovaries, and testes. Additionally, they improve kidney function and are used for neuralgia, rheumatism, nerve paralysis, autonomic nervous system hypersensitivity, and more—truly waters for all ailments with abundant benefits.
When you immerse yourself in the gentle waters, you’ll feel warmth spreading from your core, and your tense heart and body will slowly unwind.
At Kamogawaso, various baths are prepared so you can fully enjoy these precious hot springs.
Day-use bathing is also available, so we recommend stopping by during your Takehara sightseeing to refresh yourself in these renowned waters.
