How about enjoying a picnic with delicious takeout lunch at parks, beaches, or mountains in the city?
This is the city’s general sports park themed around “bamboo,” the city tree of Takehara.
Along the ridge of the forested area, there are walking paths connecting various facilities where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll and forest bathing.
Stop by the sea observation deck and mountain observation deck located at scenic viewpoints for a refreshing break.
You can enjoy a relaxing lunch on the spacious lawn. There are also playground equipment for children, so kids can have a great time too.
A perfect spot to watch the sunset overlooking the Seto Inland Sea off Tadanoumi, the setting for the film “Eden no Umi” based on the novel by author Wakasuki Kei.
Tables and benches are provided, so you can enjoy a leisurely lunch while gazing at the Seto Inland Sea.

There is a large torii gate by the sea. The Tokoura Coast around the shrine is a hidden scenic spot.

Within the shrine grounds, there is a “Ubamegashi” tree, a prefectural natural monument.
Asahiyama stands at 454 meters above sea level. By car, it’s about 20 minutes from Takehara Station. On foot, it’s about 2 hours from Takehara Station. Even beginners can enjoy trekking.
From the observation deck at the summit, you can see Hiroshima Airport to the north and the city along with the islands of the Seto Inland Sea to the south, like a beautiful painting.
The summit is equipped with a rest area and restrooms, so you can enjoy a relaxing lunch.
About 40 minutes on foot from Tadanoumi Station to the summit. The mountain trail and the view from the top are magnificent, overlooking Okunoshima, the Geiyo Islands, and the distant Shikoku mountain range.
It’s a beginner-friendly trekking course that even elementary school students climb on field trips.

A beach with beautiful white sand spreading across the blue sea, also known as an excellent fishing spot.
It gets crowded with many beachgoers in summer, but outside of summer there are fewer visitors, making it perfect for dates and families! There is playground equipment, so children can enjoy themselves too.
The waves of the Seto Inland Sea are very calm, and the islands of Awashima, Omishima, Karashima, Osakikamijima, and Ikunoshima spread out before you. On clear days, you can see the mountains of Shikoku.
